Top 5 VC Deals | Fintech

This week we saw YET ANOTHER British challenger bank receive funding this past week (gosh, there's a LOT of challenger banks out there now), plus an interesting new teen-based (you guessed it!) challenger bank out of SF. Also in this week's batch were an ATL-based payments app for e-commerce companies, an API platform for retail banking out of Chicago, and a credit card bill payment app out of India.

We're back again today with another round of top 5 VC deals for the week in the digital wealth sector.

This week we included a few new sectors - govtech - as part of these platforms are revenue monetization by local governments, and a B2B commerce platform for the manufacturing sector, out of India. Fintech is SO cool, and SO diverse, isn't it?!!

Pivoting... As investors pivot their funding into differing sectors, startups must also pivot their strategy and development to meet time-sensitive goals. "Goals?"...

Four of the top 5 deals this week come out of foreign markets - Mexico, Sweden, France and Germany. We also have two deals in the blockchain sector - Solana Labs and Ledger. Big numbers again, this week, too. The smallest deal in the Top 5 came in at $180M with the "winner" - Swedish payments firm Klarna - topping out at $639M USD.

This week, we're back again with a fresh new round of top 5 VC deals in the digital wealth sector. Another week - in the dead of summer - and I know this is getting aqfully redundant, but EVERY deal is over $100M USD AGAIN.

As I reviewed our columns going back to the first of the year, it was abundantly evident that the deal sizes have ratcheted up as the year has progressed. I'll also admit, it felt weird to leave out deals in the $500M - $600M range. But those did not make the list, incredibly.

This week we're back with a fresh round of new Top 5 VC deals, and the diversity of fintech in these deals continues to excite us.

The fintech VC spigot continues to burst, with all five deals in our listing this week, again continuing to exceed $100M. This seems to be an ongoing trend for the sector, as the money continues to flow.
