Wednesday (7/12) brings the CPI (consumer price index) and Thursday the PPI (producer price index). Then, when nothing happens, the waiting game for the July Fed decision on interest rates begins. There ya go.

Have you thought about how rising interest rates will affect the banking and wealth industries? Or how these internal problems can be solved, and failures circumvented using emerging technology?

One would think that with the U.S teetering on the cusp of defaulting on its debt, inflation not going down, economic growth slowing, interest rates rising and the general mood "blah," financial markets would be......doing something. But no.

Even if (big if) inflation drops to 3%, interest rates would need to be 5% to have positive returns. Should inflation only drop to 4%.......well, do the math. It ain't bullish.

The same folks that started the fire (inflation, zero interest rates, lax oversight, etc.) are now having us believe they are the ones to put out the fire?? Really?

Inflation is going higher. Interest rates are going higher. I've sat through this movie before (1970's and 1980-81), and it does not end well.

After 40 years, interest rates are now rising to both quash inflation AND get rates back to "normal," whatever that rate is. Let's call this a "Black Bear market."

EAR SANTA, I HAVE BEEN GOOD (AND BULLISH) ALL YEAR.  WILL YOU BRING ME A NEW BULL MARKET?  CAN YOU MAKE INFLATION GO AWAY?  WILL YOU MAKE THE FED STOP RAISING INTEREST RATES?  CAN YOU MAKE GOLD BE VIABLE AGAIN?

With the FTX drama playing out, talk about inflation, interest rates and a recession is being pushed aside. Don't get sucked into thinking those issues have passed. They have NOT.
