HAPPY CRYPTO WEEK. Its a big week with lawmakers finalizing rules and regulations on all things crypto. There will finally be clear and certain rules that will allow more innovation and open the doors for increased investment. Yup, it’s more mainstream but that’s where we are.
As might be expected BITCOIN and ETH had a good week. BITCOIN hit all time (for now) highs around $123K. Another bad week for “never-bitcoiners.” Not sure there are any left though.
CPI was out this morning showing a very slight uptick in inflation. PPI comes tomorrow but neither is causing any big ripples. Its hard to tell what is, and is not, really impactful on financial markets since its summer. Slow trading and reduced liquidity while many are on vacation.
Obviously both BTC and ETH are the standouts and where you want to be. BITCOIN supply is dying out just as increased demand is picking up. Institutions and corporations are buying and holding. I think I saw that there was only around $500M BTC being mined (?) and demand is around 5-10 times that. Just do the math.
The S&P 500 quietly hits new all time highs, quietly pulls back and then eases up again. Looks good, looks bad, looks good, etc. Rinse and repeat. Blame it on summer.
GOLD drifting around. That party has moved to crypto. Dead money for now.
A HUGE WILD CARD. IF FED CHAIR POWELL STEPS DOWN OR IS FORCED OUT, PRAY YOU AREN’T SHORT. EXPECT A MASSIVE RALLY WHICH MAY BE THE FINAL TOP. TILL THEN, OR FOR NOW, STAY LOOSE.
