COUNTDOWN TO WEDNESDAY AT 2:00 ET. THE FED DECIDES.
Financial markets have been wandering, moving up kind of quietly, hitting new highs, waiting for the Fed to ease, hold, or even raise interest rates. Oh, the drama. Oh, the anticipation. OMG. What to do? What will it mean? Will we all survive? Yes, of course.
There is not much to say till the big announcement. It appears the Fed is a guaranteed lock to lower rates by 25 bps. Is that priced into stocks? Yeah, probably. But then what?
Employment numbers are weakening, as is economic growth. BUT inflation has rekindled and is a problem—way over the Fed’s 2% target. AND Trump is pounding the table to reduce rates. What the hell? If they cut too much, it means things are worse than we think. If they don’t cut, Trump will explode. Oh my.
Out on a limb here: GOLD, BITCOIN, and ETH go higher. The S&P 500 sells off BIG. See ya all after the announcement and press conference. Hold on tight.
