BEAR MARKET ADVICE. HE WHO PANICS FIRST LOSES THE LEAST MONEY.
Now, of course, we all know bear markets only last a day or so. Hardly a chance to panic and sell, or even buy the resulting dip. These “panic dips” come and go while you are taking a nap. It’s crazy. The “lead” article in this newsletter calls these markets a Honey Badger market. Great read. No bull market, no bear market — a Honey Badger market.
Since the government is still shut down, normal economic numbers are not being released. Looks like October 24 will be the release date for jobs numbers, which probably won’t make a dent in the unstoppable bull market. If, in fact, that was the dip last week, then there doesn’t look like anything will be able to stop a strong move up into year-end. I think it’s crazy, but it doesn’t matter what I think.
To be really careful, any new positions that get put on better have some hedges in place — or defined risk (options). Volatility is here, and it can be deadly.
BITCOIN — love it, and the shakeout looks to be over. A $19B+ liquidation has to have shaken out a lot of investors. Bullish.
ETH, S&P 500, and GOLD. I’m staying neutral, but there doesn’t seem to be any determined sellers around. They can go up without me. I’m riding the BITCOIN bull. GOLD is getting scary but strong.
Not much to say when things only go up (oh yeah, once in a while a dip shows up).
