Well, here we are again. Trying to make sense of financial markets that truly do NOT want anyone to figure them out. Is it AI? Is it manipulation? Are aliens doing some cosmic style trading? Or, which I suspect, the legalization of marijuana and use of psychedelic drugs are finally getting used to make sense of something that makes no sense?
War. Bombing begins voraciously, announcement declares “we win.” What, there’s more war? Markets dive. Wait, there may be a cease fire? Markets soar. The Straight of Hormuz is closed? Markets dive. No, its open. It’s just that ships can’t use it Iran agrees to cease fire BUT shoots missiles from Iraq (wasn’t us). Announcement comes out that we just won again and Iran agreed to all our demands (uh, nobody told Iran). So, manipulation? By whom?
But I digress. What does all this have to do with markets? Everything. It’s easy to be bearish, except it isn’t working. It’s hard to be bullish, but it is working. WTF. Tensions are rising, GOLD is selling off. Bigger threats, the S&P 500 goes up. Aliens trading? You never know.
There IS a really good story unfolding though. BITCOIN, and by association, ETH. Slowly, very stealthy, BTC is moving on up. As soon as hesitant investors realize that an up move has begun then the fun begins. The very big buyers are quietly back. Just saying. Cheap out of the money call spreads (out 3-5 months) look real good. Bullish.
Everything else? Neutral and observing. I’m tired of giving aliens, manipulators and psychos more money.
