Michael Saylor — patron saint of laser‑eyed Bitcoin maximalism — is selling Bitcoin. Yes, really. The Wall Street Journal says Strategy has wandered into a “math trap,” which is a polite way of saying the perpetual‑buying‑Bitcoin‑forever plan isn’t penciling out at the moment. Funny how even the most “bulletproof” ideas eventually meet reality, and reality tends to win those encounters.

Once again, the sacred crypto mantra of “this time it’s different” gets flattened by market forces. Saylor’s positions are “marked to model,” not “marked to market,” meaning the numbers look great as long as you don’t compare them to anything that actually exists. Maybe it all resolves. Maybe it doesn’t. Time will tell. But one thing is certain: never say never. Michael pledged he would never sell Bitcoin. And… here we are.

Meanwhile, Bitcoin itself is acting surprisingly well, as if shrugging and saying, “Dad sells sometimes, it’s fine.” Maybe a bottom under $60K is forming. Hard to know. The loud bulls have mostly vanished, which is usually when things get interesting. If someone wanted to do a little “nibbling” with stops around $57K–$58K, that’s their business. The more negative the talking heads get — and the less the price actually drops — the more tempting it becomes.

Outside of that, it’s still summer, markets are sluggish, and I’m staying neutral on gold, silver, ETH, and the S&P 500. Too many wars, too many global plot twists, and only so many warm days left before Montana remembers it’s Montana.

Go long summer. Maybe a little Bitcoin. Enjoy yourself. See you next week.
