This week we continue our series on the top 5 VC-funded deals in AI.
This week our overall AI venture capital activity lost some of its momentum from prior weeks, with all five of our listed announcements coming in over $130 million and six announcements total coming in over $100 million.
The biggest announcement, per FinSMEs, came from San Jose, Calif.-based AI infrastructure provider SambaNova, which raised $1 billion as part of its Series F round to “expand capacity, accelerate product innovation, and scale deployments for enterprises, neo-clouds, sovereign AI customers, and service providers worldwide. It will grow customer programs and continue investing across chips, systems, software, and full-stack AI infrastructure,” according to its announcement. Our second-place announcement was also from the AI infrastructure space, where London-based Nscale raised a $900 million debt financing round to “accelerate its AI data center build-out and capital deployment across the US, Europe, and APAC,” according to its announcement. Rounding out the top 5 are announcements from the biotechnology/molecular discovery, maritime defense and data infrastructure spaces.
Smaller funding raises that did not quite make our top 5 this week included announcements from the pharmacy, AI training and publishing sectors.
