This week we continue our series on the top 5 VC-funded deals in AI.

This week our overall AI venture capital activity accelerated dramatically from recent weeks, with all five of our listed announcements coming in over $600 million and 16 announcements total coming in over $100 million.

The biggest announcement, per FinSMEs, came from San Francisco-based AI infrastructure provider Cognition, which raised over $2 billion in a Series E to “fund graphics processor (GPU) cluster acquisition, accelerate advanced machine learning and reasoning model research, scale its systems engineering teams, and expand its global corporate enterprise deployment pipelines,” according to its announcement. Our second-place announcement was also from the AI infrastructure space, where Denver-based Vantage raised a $2 billion credit facility to “support development across its North American platform and accelerate project delivery and data center capacity,” according to its announcement. Rounding out the top 5 are announcements from the AI infrastructure, physical AI and defense spaces.

Smaller funding raises that did not quite make our top 5 this week included announcements from the physical AI, AI infrastructure, marketing and AI development sectors.
