This week we continue our series on the top 5 VC-funded deals in AI.

This week our overall AI venture capital activity accelerated yet again from prior weeks, with all five of our announcements coming in over $200 million and seven announcements coming in over $100 million.
The biggest announcement, per FinSMEs, came from San Jose, CA-based Hark, which raised a $700 million Series A to “accelerate the development of advanced personalized intelligence and next-generation hardware designed to serve as a universal interface between humans and machines,” according to its announcement. Recursive Superintelligence creates agentic AI that is designed to interface with human users naturally in real-world contexts. Our second-place announcement was from New York-based AI infrastructure provider Modal, raising a $355 million Series C which it will use to “expand low-latency inference primitives, streamline reinforcement learning (RL) training loops, scale its parallel sandbox infrastructure, and build out its developer team across New York, as well as San Francisco, and Stockholm,” according to its announcement. The top five also included companies in the fintech, video and AI search spaces.
Smaller funding raises that did not quite make our top 5 this week included announcements from the wealthtech (Farther), investment management (Moment) and banking (Catena Labs) sectors.
That’s a lot of AI in Finance venture capital activity!
