1161

This week we continue our series on the top 5 VC-funded deals in AI.

This week’s venture capital funding accelerated anew, with eight transactions in excess of the $100 million threshold and two crossing the billion-dollar mark.

The top reported deal, per FinSMEs, came from San Francisco-based AI development platform Cursor, which raised $2.3 billion in its latest round. Cursor will use the funds to “increase investment in technical research, product development, and frontier model training — like the recently launched Composer agentic coding model — while also expanding to meet demand from enterprise and Fortune 500 companies, and expand the team across offices in San Francisco and New York City,” according to its announcement. Cursor is now valued at approximately $29.3 billion. Our second announcement is from Lambda, also based in San Francisco, which raised a more than $1.5 billion Series E to “accelerate growth to deploy gigawatt-scale AI factories and supercomputers to meet demand from hyperscalers, enterprises, and frontier labs building superintelligence,” according to its announcement. The top five also included companies in the AI infrastructure, enterprise AI and fintech sectors.

Smaller funding raises that did not quite make our top 5 this week included announcements from the agentic AI, healthcare and AI infrastructure spaces.

Below, we highlight the top five venture capital deals, ranked from the highest to the lowest funding amounts, showcasing the companies at the forefront of the AI revolution…
