INAUGURATION DAY
As we were writing this week’s VC post, the inauguration of President Donald Trump was going on in the background. A new admnistration enters the White House on the same day we are celebrating the legacy of Martin Luther King on MLK Day. It was fascinating to see the tech titans in the audience, and we are eager to see how the new administration will work with the technology and AI sector to advance the American agenda. We are hopeful.
Meanwhile, notable trends this past week…
- Our top deal came from the UK this week – something we don’t often see anymore – although London remains the defacto world headquarters for fintech outside of the US
- AI & Blockchain comprise two of the four top deals this past week – AI continues to dominate funding across all sectors and we believe blockchain is set to soar under the new administration
- Two of the four American deals came out of Silicon Valley, while the other two originated in NYC and America’s “new” financial capital – Miami
Up next are this week’s top 5 VC deals…
