With the PLETHORA of content out there on any given topic these days – and AI able to generate info with simple prompts – who needs to fill out a form to download a whitepaper? Or give away their personal data so a company can contact them endlessly with promo messages – even if it’s delivered “mindfully” thru “lead enrichment” and “personalizerd marketing” platforms like HubSpot or Salesloft. Or even worse, click a download button and get a malware download (it’s happened to us!).
BOTTOM LINE – download forms simply do not work anymore and that means sales leads are NOT coming in. Content consumers have gotten savvy to the myriad of potential threats that can result from a traditional download.
So now what do you do? You can exhibit at endless industry conferences with the hope that you aren’t just talking to other competitors in the industry, but there’s no guaratee and THEY ARE VERY COSTLY and eat up marketing budget quickly.
