Well, once your basketball March Madness brackets are destroyed (after the first round, too) you would think the financial markets would provide some excitement………but no. Things are wandering around without anything really happening. I guess investors/traders are not going to do much before the end of the first quarter (Monday, the 31st).
Now don’t forget next Wednesday (4/2) is “Liberation Day.” Yes indeed. President Trump has some big things (?) on tariffs, maybe more, to announce. He probably will announce easing of some tariffs and carefully selecting +/- on others. Bet you just can’t wait, right?
So here we are. Turmoil abounds, constantly changing economic news, no clarity on inflation or interest rates and who knows what else. BUT, it may be that the last few weeks of selloff were folks lightening up before the end of the first quarter. Which means……come next wee,k April will kick in the 2nd quarter. Perhaps a strong rally to begin the new quarter might be in order. Probably not new highs, but a good ride up.
I have moved BITCOIN and ETH to bullish and both GOLD and the S&P 500 to neutral….for now. I am not sure Trump wants to create a huge market sell off and will manipulate tariffs to keep that from happening. However, there will be some economic fallout which will keep the upside limited.
We may be into a market that gets sharp selloffs and quick rallies but winds up going nowhere. Volatile and choppy. How fun can that be? lol
BITCOIN and little brother ETH have the best bullish long term prospect. I would expect in the volatile/choppy environment BITCOIN will see higher highs on rallies, and higher lows on selloffs.
