Today in advisor tech news we have appointments and hires at Broadridge and its AI subsidiary, LTX.

Compliance tech Smarsh announced a new chief financial officer, while J.P. Morgan launched a client portal-like feature integrated with its Chase app.

Pickings get a little slim around the holidays, but we’ve still found plenty of advisor tech headlines for you as the days get shorter and the nights colder.

Broadridge Financial Solutions—Broadridge announced the appointment of Martin Koopman as Chief Product Officer, effective January 1, 2023. In this role, Koopman will lead the Product Management team working across all business units to collectively drive Broadridge’s delivery of world-class SaaS and other service offerings to leading financial services clients. He will be responsible for Broadridge’s enterprise product vision and strategy, building enterprise-wide platforms to benefit Broadridge clients, empowering product management teams, and accelerating innovation in partnership with our technology teams.

J.P. Morgan Wealth Management launched Wealth Plan, a free digital money coach that gives clients a full picture of their finances and helps them plan, save and invest, all in one place. The experience will be available for free to all 62 million digitally-active Chase customers in the top-ranked Chase Mobile app and Chase.com.

With Wealth Plan customers can:

  • Get a full view of their finances including accounts outside of Chase
  • Create and track goals in real time and get personalized step-by-step guidance on next steps
  • See how changes to their spending or savings today could impact their financial future
  • Schedule a video meeting and work one-on-one with a J.P. Morgan financial advisor

LTX

LTX announced that Jim Kwiatkowski has been promoted to the role of CEO of LTX.Jim Toffey, co-founder of LTX, will succeed Art Certosimo as Chairman of the LTX Board of Directors.  In his role as Chairman, Jim Toffey will continue to promote innovation and advise on strategy and evolving market structure. Art Certosimo will remain on the LTX Board.

Northern Trust

Northern Trust and Saphyre have deployed into production automation of the account opening process for investment manager clients of Northern Trust’s Investment Operations Outsourcing (IOO) business. The two firms collaborated on this innovative solution, which provides a dynamic middle-office function to increase transparency and efficiency for events including account setup, account maintenance and asset transfer requests.

Smarsh

Smarsh announced the appointment of Mike Cagle as Chief Financial Officer and Leander LeSure as Chief People & Diversity Officer. These additions to the Smarsh leadership team will help guide the company through its next phase of growth. Both Cagle and LeSure bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to their roles. Each will be instrumental in helping Smarsh provide new, innovative communications compliance and intelligence solutions to customers around the world.

Voya Financial

Voya announced the one-year milestone of Voya PAL, an intelligent chatbot providing customers with 24/7 service availability for their workplace benefits and savings needs. Voya PAL was introduced as part of the company’s ongoing focus on expanding customer experiences and, ultimately, to provide multiple options for customers to connect with Voya and in ways that are most helpful to them. Since its launch one year ago, Voya PAL has engaged in more than 120,000 customer interactions across Voya’s Wealth Solutions and Health Solutions businesses, and it has resolved over 70% of cases using the chatbot functionality to address customers’ questions.
