Understatement. There is a helluva lot going on.
No matter where you look there are dramas unfolding, political shenanigans, geopolitical events and on and on. During summer relaxing time, too. So rather than focus on just one topic, let’s take a page out of comedian Jerry Seinfeld’s TV show, but in reverse. His was a show “about nothing” and this is an article about “everything.”
So you have probably heard about some sort of election coming up, right? Or, will there be an election? It would make sense to have two presidential candidates, right? So far there is only one for certain. The next few weeks are gonna get…..”interesting.”
I just saw a guest on CNBC suggest this is going to be the “most investable election yet.” Really? WHAT?
An assassination attempt on a political candidate (an ex-president, no less)? A 20-year-old totally outsmarts the Secret Service? Scopes out the area over a few days, flies a drone over the area before the actual event, climbs on a nearby roof with a rifle, people see him (and report him) but the Secret Service knows nothing. Oh, and the “protective snipers” see him but don’t shoot him ’til after the kid shoots. Oh well, dead snipers don’t talk. OK then.
Saw another guest on CNBC last Friday, said he was aggressively buying CrowdStrike (it was down $40) even before it wasn’t clear what the problem was. It’s down another $40 today (Mon) so far. And he gets on TV? That’s a rookie mistake in trading.
On a different note, we at Digital Wealth News (DWealth) are so flattered. Remember, copying is the purest form of flattery. It seems one of the Big 4 accounting firms (Deloitte) has been reading DWN (Dwealth.news) and decided to launch their own DWealth program. Borrowing ours which has been around for a bit. Well, thank you, Deloitte. Maybe we can dress alike when we go out, too? Same breakfast? Keep up the good follow and learn.
Any other investors notice the Israel/Hamas war is expanding? To Yemen (Houthis) and Lebanon (Hezbollah). Just saying.
Brilliant. The Museum of Failure. Gotta go see this. Displays and artifacts of failure. Think Bud Light, Pets.com, etc. Personally, I hope they get the Enron book of ethics. More and more coming, too. They will never run out of failures.
Thinking back to the Deloitte wannabe like Dwealth.news bit, here’s a brilliant and devious plan. How about raising hundreds of millions of dollars using the “copy-cat” method? Get a large empty space (Space X), change your name to Elmer Musk and raise funds for Space X and E. Musk. Yeah, I know, brilliant.
After years (yes, years) of hiding President Biden’s deteriorating mental state, can ANY government economic numbers be believed?
One thing about today’s investing landscape, there is certainly no lack of material to talk about.
Happy summer and back to the pool.
