At a time when AI and digital platforms are rewriting the rules of wealth management, Stifel Independent Advisors is trying to make sure financial advisors don’t get left behind. The firm said in an announcement that it had recently concluded SIAccess Forum in St. Louis, a three-day immersion in the future of advisor tech and continuity.
“SIAccess Forum showcased how we are helping our advisors navigate the evolving wealth management space, growing their businesses and preparing for the future,” said Tim Boostrom, Chief Operating Officer of Stifel Independent Advisors. “SIAccess not only inspired – it reinforced Stifel Independent Advisors’ culture of independence, supported by personal service. Through shared expertise and a commitment to innovation, the conference underscored how the collective strength of our network creates an enhanced experience for our advisors and their clients.”
Boutique wealth management firms like SIA, which represent a network of advisors specializing in high-touch, long-term financial planning, have long emphasized the value of human-driven advice.
While SIA may be evolving in response to the rise of AI, the firm’s forum, which included a sessionon incorporating AI, likely served as a platform to reaffirm its commitment to technology as a tool for enhancing – not replacing – the advisor-client relationship. By leveraging AI to support decision-making and deepen engagement, SIA’s network could be prioritizing personalized guidance at the core of its service model.
SIAccess is an annual event for a firm with a nationwide network of advisors, who stay connected through shared platforms but also through community initiatives that address common professional concerns.
“One of the most impactful topics was about the critical importance of business continuity for our advisors,” said Boostrom. “While mergers and acquisitions receive the most attention in our consolidating industry, basic continuity planning is often overshadowed. The need for a written, well-designed, and funded continuity plan became a point of discussion during and after our event. Advisors have taken the actionable steps they learned at the meeting back to their offices and have been calling us for consultations on how to protect their businesses, clients, staff, and families in case the unexpected happens.”
As part of the conference, the firm hosted a charity trivia night. Winners were able to select charities around the country that had personal meaning, according to SIA.
