This week we continue our series on the top 5 VC-funded deals in AI.

Venture capital activity switched back into acceleration mode this week, with six fundraising announcements coming in above the $100 million threshold.

The biggest announcement, per FinSMEs, came from Cambridge, Mass.-based Cambridge Mobile Telematics, which raised $350 million in “strategic” funding to “scale its global road safety platform, advance its DriveWell Atlas AI models for real-time crash detection and risk assessment, and accelerate the adoption of its Universal Driving Score,” according to the announcement. Cambridge Mobile Telematics operates a road-safety platform using data from smartphones, devices and connected vehicles. Our second-place announcement was from Dallas-based healthcare data platform provider Verily, which raised a $300 million round to “advance the next phase of its precision health AI strategy,” according to its announcement. The top five also included companies in the AI infrastructure, security and identiy, and AI observability spaces.

Smaller funding raises that did not quite make our top 5 this week included announcements from the autonomous driving, traffic management and healthcare sectors.

Below, we highlight the top five venture capital deals, ranked from the highest to the lowest funding amounts, showcasing the companies at the forefront of the AI revolution…
