The Lead: A Little of This, A Little of That

Well here we are in April. Easter is now in the rear view mirror and Spring Break is winding down, or over, depending what part of the country you live in. Major league baseball is under way and college basketball (March Madness) bows out this evening. Yes, welcome to April.

Starting this with a very heavy heart, sadness and anger. Pardon my directness but……cancer sucks. Our readers probably know by now the Founder and Publisher of DWN and AI & Finance, Cindy Taylor (my wife and partner), succumbed to a very aggressive cancer recently. It sucks. Today we’ve learned that a long time friend of Cindy and DWN has been hospitalized with her life possibly coming to an end. Tina Powell has been battling a non-curable cancer for quite some time. Never stopped her daily activities or work at Intention.ly. (take a second and read Intention.ly’s Founder Kelly Waltrich’s message). My eyes have been constantly “moist” since Cindy “retired” but hearing about Tina…..full gush. Again, CANCER SUCKS.

Moving on, is it time to end this Iran war? Of course most everybody would yell a resounding YES. OK, but how? The President has given Iran until Tuesday evening or (OR?) Iran “disappears.” Would it help if Trump just said “OK. we trust you nice Iranians. No nukes.” Probably not gonna happen. This is like a “Days of Our Lives” television soap drama. Stay tuned.

On a really happy note, the U.S. found, rescued and outsmarted the Iranian military to bring home a second pilot of an F-15 shot down by Iran. The words brave, brilliant, gutsy and AWESOME come to mind. Just remind the pilot not to cut any classes at Top Gun school next time.

Get ready to cheer again in the next few days. The NASA fly around the moon mission is rounding the moon and heading back home. The Artemis II mission has now gone farther than ever before into space. There are probably some aliens out there giggling about long hauls, but it is a big achievement. Just pause and think about the complexity. An advance welcome home Artemis II.

A last bit of a downer currently being overlooked by war and moon missions. Private Credit. It’s a big problem getting bigger every day. Investors are wanting out of those investments and finding its not so simple. Keep your eyes and ears tuned to this “problem.”

If you haven’t noticed the price of gas has increased along with the the price of crude oil. The war ya know. Being in Los Angeles (well actually Beverly Hills) for the past weekend it’s very eye opening looking at gas station signs. Depending on the street corner, $6, $7 and even $8 a gallon was quite common. Diesel? Come on, nobody drive a truck in Beverly Hills.

And one last time: CANCER SUCKS,
