The end of summer is only a few days away. Labor Day weekend signals the “official” end of summer. BUT football (American style) season arrives. Oh yeah, baseball season is still on too.
Very short report this week. Enjoying the last of summer.
Last week was a turning point in the financial markets. With the huge one-day rally (last Friday), the Dow finally hit a new high for the year. Other sectors had already. Last gasp. Investors are all in and waiting for their entitled returns. But employment is souring, and any interest rate cuts now would signal declining economic growth.
I think the “canary in the coal mine” is BITCOIN (crypto). The last few months have had massive “whale” selling with lots of new investors waiting for $200K, $500K, $1M, etc., etc. Long term, all is possible. BUT FIRST, BITCOIN is going to lead the markets down. Hard. Not a time to be a dip buyer.
Long story short? Get hedged, get short, get your risk parameters lowered, and be careful.
I am NOT short-term bullish. Let’s see where things settle out.
