Which is more confusing; Trying to figure out what Trump is up to; Trying to figure out who is winning the Iran war; Trying to figure out Trump’s game plan for the war; OR, doing your own taxes? Yeah, probably the last one.
The financial world, at least in the U.S, is in the midst of earnings season. Waiting for, or anticipating, individual companies earnings is in full swing. Place your bets and spin the wheel. I guess that goes for the price of oil too.
What I’m getting at is, no matter what market you are watching its just like roulette. A gamble. Gambling with massive volatility. No matter how you play it you have to have hedges in place.
I’m bearish. Really bearish notwithstanding what ever happens overnight…….any overnight. Sell into rallies. The higher the rallies the more you sell. Buy the dip?? One of these dips will not have a bottom.
Again, volatility is crazy wild. Hedge. Did I say hedge? Yes I did. Using options to execute call back spreads on the S&P 500. Go out 2-3 months buying near strike calls and selling deep in the money calls one to one. If you’re bullish buy 2 near term calls and sell 1 deep in the money call. Gives you some upside exposure and can be adjusted if needed. Pick a ratio that fits your expectations.
Going to stay neutral on GOLD. Not on SILVER.
BITCOIN and ETH are looking pretty firm. That doesn’t mean they rocket up (or, maybe they do) right away, but they may have bottomed. I’m lightly bullish and would buy “cheap” out of the money call spreads. I use the IBIT ETF, but others work too. Sellers may have washed out and bulls are hard to find. The bull traders will come back but at higher prices.
See you next week.
