We're back again with a fresh new round of top 5 VC deals for the week in the digital wealth sector. This is going to sound redundant. Not one deal is under $100M, and we actually had to omit British firm Paysend from this list, who also had a deal close at $125M this week - because - we would then be at 6 deals for our "Top 5 Deals" post.

As I reviewed our columns going back to the first of the year, it was abundantly evident that the deal sizes have ratcheted up as the year has progressed. I'll also admit, it felt weird to leave out deals in the $500M - $600M range. But those did not make the list, incredibly.

More big money passed hands this past week as we were driving across America from Atlanta to our new home in Bozeman, MT, including an $800M USD deal for a POS retail loan processor and a $400M USD for a Brazilian challenger bank serving South America.

This week, we're back again with a fresh new round of top 5 VC deals in the digital wealth sector. Another week - in the dead of summer - and I know this is getting aqfully redundant, but EVERY deal is over $100M USD AGAIN.

Now that we're officially post-Labor Day, we're looking at the top 5 largest fintech deals of the summer, and there have been some whoppers. To give you a perspective, the LOWEST funding level in this Top 5 list for the summer was a $500M Series G for equity management system Carta. The top deal came in at $1B+ (yes, "B") for NC-based financial reporting software firm insightsoftware.

Seeing a bit of a pullback this week in the megadeals of fintech. In prior editions, we've seen EVERY deal at $200M+. This week, only our largest deal hit that number. However, last week was a rare one indeed in geopolitics.

After last week's report, we had some concern that the fintech VC sector was starting to lose it's luster. For the first time, we saw a Top 5 deal come in under $100M, and it's been some time since we've seen that. Not to fear. Apparently last week was a temporary "seasonally adjusted" blip, and here we are back in $200M+ territory again.
